Dum Dums, which come in an array of flavors, are still around after nearly a century and making a mark with the confectionary maker’s first advertising effort in 30 years, featuring Shel Silverstein-inspired animations.
In a series of animated stories, Smith Brothers agency introduces a new tagline for the 95-year-old brand, ‘Make Life Pop.’
The ads show Dum Dums lollipops depicted as a bouquet of flowers, a balloon, and other items that charm the giver and getter of the treats, all done with simple and engaging line animations. In one, a girl grabs a Dum Dums balloon and floats away, while another shows a young man lifting a barbell made of Dum Dums.
