Sid Lee Montreal have come up with a new way to use Twitter to fight the spreading of environmental disinformation.

As part of the 'Protect Our Winters' campaign, it created an online too called 'Fact Avalanche' that allows users to #Factback against climate change deniers on Twitter, by sending an alert inviting participants to respond with scientific facts.

The impacts of climate change are being felt everywhere and Global initiatives such as the UN Climate Summit 2019 and the Global Climate Strike are taking place this week. However, only 3% of the content regarding climate change on Twitter comes from an expert scientific source.

Having an easy access to verified information can enable people to #FactBack against influential climate change deniers such as Donald Trump, whose numerous climate denial tweets were described as a national security threat by Forbes.
