Vodafone Foundation is launching the 'Shine a Light' campaign to celebrate its five-year partnership with Girl Effect.
The campaign includes engaging statistics, videos, photographs and cinemographs specially designed for Instagram stories of different young women. The mobile phones in the messaging illuminating girls' faces represents the light, and stands as metaphor for shining a path toward success.
The partnership between Girl Effect and Vodafone Foundation hopes to reach seven million girls in eight different countries by 2022, by launching mobile content platforms that equip girls in underdeveloped countries with the tools to succeed. Research from the two group shows that in such nations, girls have drastically less access to mobile phones compared to boys, which limits the opportunities connectivity provides.
This is the first such global campaign for Vodafone Foundation, the charity arm of Vodafone.
