EE has shown off the capabilities of its Full Fiber Home broadband by successfully landing a plane over the network to demonstrate its power and reliability.

The stunt saw the telecoms provider take over the dining room of a family home, transforming it into a makeshift air traffic control center capable of relaying information between the plane and Cambridge Airport to see it land safely.

A TV advert documents this remote activity as the Saley family continue their online lives, with the children playing their PlayStation and both parents happily browsing their laptops, tablets and smartphones – all on the same network.

Starring Kevin Bacon, the campaign premiered during Coronation Street last week and dovetails with a nationwide out-of-home (OOH) campaign that hammers home the proficiency of EE’s broadband network.

Developed by Saatchi & Saatchi London, the campaign was produced by Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper.
