Celebrating its 50th year, the Special Olympics looks to host city Seattle to support the games. The Visit Seattle campaign casts the city as one of inclusion that works together. In a public service ad created by Seattle agency PB&, the spirit of community is clearly captured by showing the story of how the city wins together by having a populace that works together to make it a better place. With a voiceover by Seattle’s own, actor Rainn Wilson, and set to music by local artist Macklemore, the story is demonstrated through a variety of shots that shows the diversity of its people – from Seattle Pride parades to the Seattle Seahawks winning, to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation doing good with its millions to the Special Olympic athletes in action, all celebrating togetherness.

PB& also paired some of Seattle’s best known athletes with Special Olympics competitors for interviews on the value of “support” at iconic Seattle locations. In one, Special Olympian Ben Kennish talks with former Seahawk Walter Jones aboard the touring boat Argosy and they both call Kennish’s coach together to talk about the importance of having people who support them.

Others feature Special Olympian Michelle Anderson talking with US Vollyball Olympic medalist Courtney Thompson over a game of bocce ball; Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart talking with Special Olympian Heyiwot Amare about basketball; and Special Olympian Garret Utz getting some soccer tips from Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris at CenturyLink Field.
