Pornhub has again leveraged bold marketing and comms to differentiate itself by embracing a social purpose as only it could.

For the uninitiated, the internet's largest porn streaming service has engaged its vast userbase on how to address plastic pollution with The Dirtiest Porn Ever - a bespoke porn film also carefully cut into an ad - although the 'safe for work' version has been pulled from YouTube for breaching terms and conditions.

Long-time creative agency Officer & Gentleman delivered the ad, arguably most known for executing one of the funniest, most memorable Christmas ads of 2016. The team, having shared with The Drum just what it is like being Pornhub’s creative agency, is raising awareness of ocean pollution, claiming that 7 million tons of trash-most is dumped there.

For each view of the video, the brand will make a donation to Ocean Polymers, to help them in their mission to provide a sustainable solution to the removal and processing of ocean waste.

A one minute cut is circulating on social media however and a ten minute NSFW version is available on Pornhub’s website.
