Safe Roads Alliance: Getting Serious about Distracted Driving by MullenLowe

MullenLowe has created a PSA for the Safe Roads Alliance to highlight the fact although drunk driving harms many people each year, distracted driving actually injures more people, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In the ad, an actor disguised as a NYC taxi driver picks up passengers while drinking beer and vodka (the beer was actually an energy drink and the vodka was just water). Using hidden cameras, the agency was able to capture passenger reactions. The angry passengers yell at the driver, try to take the alcohol away from him, and demand that he pull over and let them out. But towards the end of the video, passengers are faced with a different scenario: the driver texting and driving. The passengers don't seem to mind and do not appear to be upset that he is using his phone behind the wheel, which drives home the point that much needs to be done when it comes to educating people about the dangers of distracted driving.
