In celebration of the nation’s 54th birthday, Shopee pays tribute to this iconic Singaporean phrase with an adaptation of one of our most popular games, Shopee Slice - the mee siam mai hum edition.

Since the phrase was uttered on live national television in 2006, “mee siam mai hum” not only set tongues wagging, it also stirred up the cybersphere, spawning several song parodies and memes as it went viral. It was even made the title of a book that compiles the most memorable quotes uttered by Singapore’s politicians.

Every once in a while, when that one blur sotong friend makes the same gaffe, the phrase resurfaces in conversation and brings a smile to our faces.
