Many restaurants have a bring your own beverage (BYOB) policy, but until now no fast food joint has urged people to bring their own buns to make sandwiches.

Popeyes, recognizing that the craze it created for its limited time chicken sandwich resulted in people clamoring for more, is telling people to ‘BYOB – bring your own bun’.

When Popeyes released its chicken sandwich, it quickly became a cultural phenomenon, with fans flocking to try it and taking to twitter to share rave reviews. Due to the extraordinary demand, the sandwich sold out two weeks after it was introduced nationwide.

Popeyes is working to get the Sandwich back in restaurants soon. In the meantime, they’re offering guests a way to ease their sorrows and cravings, with ‘Bring Your Own Bun’. The restaurant is telling people that it still has the best fried chicken in the game, so they can order a three-piece tender entree make their own sandwiches – if they bring buns with them.

A video shows incredulous, and somewhat annoyed customers trying to make sandwiches with their own buns. They do not look pleased.
