Following up on the Tuesday, October 16 live Twitter event, where Comcast installed a one-of-a-kind mesh wi-fi network in the Winchester Mystery House, a 24,000-square-foot maze-like mansion with 160 rooms, 2,000 doors and 10,000 windows that’s renowned for its odd architectural design and history of paranormal activity, a spooky film was created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
The mesh network, which used Xfinity gigabit Internet and a new wi-fi system that included xFi Gateways and xFi Pods, was built to power Xfinity’s 'Project Dead Zone,' the first live paranormal investigation of the largest haunted house in America, controlled by an audience on Twitter.
During the live stream, a team of paranormal investigators entered the house to uncover what had been causing a recent spike in paranormal sightings. The live audience helped them navigate through the many doors and passageways in real time. 30-minutes in, things took an interesting twist as the house appeared to become possessed and began pulling the team apart, causing panic which you’ll have to tune into. The end result was an elaborate piece of theater put on by Xfinity and GS&P.
