PayPal has put giving at the heart of its 2019 holiday campaign, launching an integrated marketing and communications program in partnership with agencies Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Edelman, encouraging holiday shoppers to not only give, but ‘Give Better’. The holiday campaign runs through December 31, encouraging consumers to shop with a conscience and support small businesses with a purpose, while also asking them to donate all kinds of generosity to those in need.
As holiday window displays from big name retailers have been unveiled across storefronts in New York City, PayPal took a different approach to this year’s festive window displays by launching an interactive display featuring five small businesses making a big impact in the world.
Developed in partnership with Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the window displays located on 5th Avenue and 44th Street not only tell shoppers more about these amazing small businesses and the work they do for the causes they care about, but connect holiday shoppers with thoughtfully made gifts from thoughtfully owned businesses for every loved one on their list. The window displays offer a fully shoppable holiday window experience. Through QR codes on the glass, visitors of the windows can seamlessly scan and shop the businesses’ products right from the windows using their mobile phone.
To celebrate GivingTuesday, PayPal partnered with renowned actor, activist and fashion icon Billy Porter to shine a light on all the ways people can give back this holiday season - whether it’s money, time, belongings or even a simple random act of kindness.
Developed in partnership with Edelman and Feral Productions, the launch video filmed and produced in New York City stars Billy as he shows a number of ways consumers can give back this holiday season. The video was shared across the PayPal owned platforms and amplified through social and earned outreach in line with Giving Tuesday.
