Burger King is taking on the big coffee vendors like Starbucks by offering an affordable subscription-based alternative.

BK app users can sign up for the BK Café Coffee subscription. For only $5 per month, guests get a small hot brewed cup of 100% Arabica coffee every single day at participating restaurants.

To promote the offer, Burger King takes a jab at global java giant Starbucks and its prices in an ad that states “Enjoy BK Café for a month for the price of a large cappuccino from Starbucks.”

The $5 subscription rate is only available by downloading the BK app. Those who do can use the offers tab on the BK app to sign up and open the app daily to redeem their small cup of brewed coffee.

The brand also introduced a mini documentary from David Miami, directed by Independent Media's David Gelb, and taps his experience directing the wildly popular Netflix series Chef's Table and Jiro Dreams of Sushi for a real but slightly tongue in cheek documentary about what goes into a cup of Burger King coffee.
