Flipkart has launched a campaign in India in an attempt to change the way Indians look at the ongoing Indian elections.

The 2019 Indian general election is currently being held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, with the results announced on the same day.

Named ‘Equals’ Day’, the ad aims to change the way Indians show their inked finger during election season when the country is divided into ‘us’ vs. ‘them’. It is also a time when passionate conversations turn into heated exchanges and differences rear their head like never before.

The campaign was created by Dentsu Webchutney , which drew inspiration from Article 326, Universal Adult Franchise (UAF) in the Indian constitution, which states that each adult has the right to one vote irrespective of an adult’s caste, colour, religion or gender.

The brand hopes the campaign shows Indian that this makes the equal with each other on the day of Election.
