The witching hour is drawing near as Halloween approaches, and Skittles is debuting its first Halloween spot in over five years, featuring a very annoyed witch.

The ad, created by DDB Chicago in partnership with Smuggler Production House, takes a familiar Halloween fairytale and gives it a twist. The story spotlights a witch who lures a teen into her house with the promise of Skittles. The action takes place in the witch’s kitchen, a drab room with a raven flying around and a tub-cauldron on a gas flame in the middle of the room.

The teen sits comfortably in the tub eating Skittles. He asks the witch if she has any more Skittles, something the viewer assumes she must have offered him to get him into the house. Her plan is foiled after the teen ends up being so annoying that she begs him to leave the house. He, in turn, keeps asking for more Skittles, even showing a video on his phone of a Skittles commercial with a witch who begs a similar child in a cauldron to eat all the Skittles. He states, “Oh, it’s not as good as I remember,” then goes back to begging for Skittles.

It closes with the tag, “Annoy the rainbow. Taste the rainbow.”
