Bloomsbury is helping to drive literacy rates up through partnerships with World Book Day and the National Literacy Trust.

This involves participating in the Share A Story campaign for World Book Day as well as expanding on its partnership with the National Literacy Trust.

Bloomsbury, along with other UK publishing houses, will help promote this year’s World Book Day’s aim to ‘Share a Million Stories’; a campaign encouraging parents and children to develop new reading behaviours by sharing stories for at least 10 minutes every day.

Involving all 750 Bloomsbury staff based in the UK, Bloomsbury’s campaign initiatives include encouraging staff to share their favourite books across social media with the hashtag #ShareAStory, hosting a silent reading and book swap event and using flexible hours for employees to take time to read to their children.
