The US is pretty proud of its moon landing in 1969. So what better way to introduce a video game where cultures battle it out to be the first to make history than reimagining Neil Armstrong's 'one small step' moment - adding many more astronauts into the mix.

This is the premise behind the trailer for Humankind, a strategy video game developed by the French studio Amplitude, where the player can combine cultures through six different eras to become the most famous empire in history.

The Apollo 11 twist sees Armstrong poised, ready to deliver his famous line when all of a sudden a Brazilian astronaut appears, who got there first. Punching him in the face, the Brazilian provokes Armstrong to battle it out, before both notice a sea of more astronauts heading towards them. The scene also borrows from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, with a rework of the Blue Danube.

For the launch of this new title, the official trailer was created by BETC and directed by Edouard Salier

The Trailer to the Moon follows the Lucy trailer that was released in December last year, for the official announcement of the video game.
