Virgin Media: Switch to Super by BBH London
- Location:
Virgin Media is demonstrating the speed of its broadband yet again through the personification of the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, in the third chapter of its "Switch to Super” campaign.
In previous chapters, "SuperBolt" has appeared animated in a high-octane rescue mission, and on the search for a superhero suit. This is the sixth time Bolt has starred in Virgin Media ads.
Created by BBH London, this time, we see the creation of SuperBolt's theme tune.
The ad humorously dramatises what it’s like to switch to Virgin Media’s ultrafast broadband and features SuperBolt running on a treadmill as a 50 piece orchestra begin to craft his superhero anthem.
The ad features Bolt running on a treadmill as a 50 piece orchestra begin to craft his superhero anthem, which comically dramatises what it’s like to switch to Virgin Media’s ultrafast broadband.
The superhero anthem needs to be as fast as the Olympic champion running down the 100m track. Cooly picking up speed on the treadmill without a single bead of sweat, the orchestra tries to keep up with the famous sprinter.
SuperBolt becomes frustrated that his theme tune is not fast enough for him and he wills the musicians to play faster and faster until they blow out of steam.
The “theme tune” story, created to evoke familiar superhero scenes, sees the interaction between SuperBolt and the conductor bring an amusing edge to the film.
