M&M'S: Ghosted by BBDO NY

While M&M's are a Halloween staple, it’s been 11 years since the brand released a new commercial for Halloween, and the subject of the ad finds Yellow channeling his inner ghost.
The 15-second spot, ‘Ghosted,’ produced by BBDO New York, opens on Red and Yellow leaving a Halloween party, seemingly unscathed, as Red remarks how glad he is that they made it through another Halloween without being eaten. Yellow agrees, but appears a little pallid. As Yellow walks through a pumpkin, we get an inkling that perhaps he didn’t make it. When he floats away we see a bite taken out of his back and he becomes a ghostly image. Thus, not all candies will survive Halloween without being eaten.
Along with the 15-second spot, a six-second version, ‘Eaten,’ will also run online. Additionally, the full-length commercial was also developed in Spanish for Hispanic-focused audiences.
The brand also created new Halloween-themed print ads.
