BBC One is urging friends and family to get together and enjoy ‘#XmasLife’ with a film that trots out BBC stars and features programmes.

Produced by BBC Creative, the short film depicts leaving behind the trials and daily stresses of 2019, reminding audiences to embrace Christmas in all its jingle belled glory instead.

The fast-paced film starts with talk show host Graham Norton in a chair by the fire, with 2019 memes floating over his head. He snatches them from the air, throws them into the flames and uses his signature red chair lever to throw the action in motion to Christmas.

The film then shows different ways to celebrate the holidays, including Rochelle Humes sleeping in while animated creatures flitter around her. It also shows families and friends living their best #XmasLife, whether it’s staying in their pyjamas all day or spending quality time with the family, including not talking politics at the dinner table, and becoming a kid again when seeing grandma. There is also a talking cuckoo clock, a cat on a Roomba and a turkey who encourages vegetarianism. The film marks Christmastime as a time to kick back, with BBC One at the heart of festive living rooms up and down the UK.
