Taking a dig at Amazon Prime's new pricing, eBay asks 'why pay $119 for a membership when you can spend that on the items you love?'

The latest films from eBay, in partnership with 72andSunny Los Angeles, feature real people (not actors) showcasing their passions and how eBay can help fuel those pursuits with a range of products at top prices.

EBay revealed more than a hundred deals for $119 across categories like electronics, home, fashion and sporting goods - all with free shipping and no membership required - making it easier than ever to unleash a new passion. Shoppers can expect more massive discounts over the next two weeks, and with no summer blackouts, eBay’s recently launched 'Best Price Guarantee' program also offers 110% of the price difference for eligible competitors on more than 100,000 items.

Directed by Academy Award nominee, Zachary Heinzerling, the films will air nationally on broadcast, social and digital.

Suzy Deering, chief marketing officer for eBay Americas noted: “Shoppers are smart and they want to make the most of their $119, so eBay is offering hundreds of deals with free shipping and no membership required. We are giving our customers deals that match their interests, and will be bringing them to life through a series of new creative spots that capture the passions of our shoppers.”
