Salary: £20,000-22,000

Working within the Data & Insights team and reporting to the Data & Systems Manager, the Customer Database Executive provides a critical supporting role in the sales, marketing and management functions of The Drum.

As part of the CRM and marketing technology teams, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of The Drum marketing and customer databases.

The Customer Database Executive will be tasked with ensuring data is up to date and accurate at all times, with direct responsibility for a number of key functions, such as the production of marketing campaign segments, management information and reports, running data imports and exports, carrying out data cleansing tasks, and assisting with any process/system related projects.

As a new role, it will also be responsible for establishing processes and raising standards across the customer database.

Desired skills and experience

 

  • Previous experience in a similar customer or marketing database team or business-facing technical environment.
  • Good understanding of database, CRM, sales and marketing principles.
  • Experience with manipulation of large datasets in Excel or database software such as SQL, Access or Dataloader.io
  • Experience of Salesforce or similar, with marketing campaign management packages preferred (e.g Pardot/Marketo/Hubspot).
  • An understanding of the advertising, media and marketing landscape would be desirable but training can be provided.
  • Degree educated - Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or other numerical discipline preferred.
  • An understanding of Data protection and its importance
  • Business acumen – apply industry awareness to data briefs and use initiative to drive best results.
  • Able to work to a very high standard even under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • Passionate about data, logic and order. Takes pride in performing own job, using a relentless attention to detail to ensure data is kept to the highest standards
