Commercial Writer

Location: Glasgow or London

Are you a writer? Do you want to work for an award-winning, quirky and ambitious global employer? If so, you’ve come to the right place. The Drum’s Live Events division is hiring a commercial writer, a brand-new role that will be instrumental in raising the profile of our 30+ awards and conferences.

The commercial writer will report directly into the Managing Director of Events and will work closely with the event managers and marketing team to create and implement the content plan. We need a talented individual who has a flair for writing with an eye for a good story, can multitask and more importantly can produce quality work at a fast pace.

This role requires some travel – including outside the US.

The role will include:

  • Pre/post coverage of the events at the various stages in their cycle
  • Interviews with speakers, judges and partners
  • Case studies
  • Press releases
  • Website and marketing copy

Much of the content will go live on www.thedrum.com and amplified through our social channels, however there will also still be the need to secure external PR.

Experience in the media and marketing industry is preferred but it is not essential.
