Reaction: Google to penalise sites with too much SEO and offer answers rather than weblink results

I'm curious to see how much of a change this will mean. It's no doubt important, but some people I'm talking to don't believe it will mean a major change - and to quote someone from Google I spoke to recently - 'we're the only site that wants to get people off our site and onto others as quickly as possible'.

ASA welcomes OFT announcement with Groupon to change some of its trading practices

Great that Groupon is finally being taken to task to take more responsibility...but it's an industry wide issue. They maybe the largest brand in this space - but their offer is far from unique - and the issues that are being experienced by consumers are widespread. I've been stung more often than not - and really don't think I'll be tempted back. When it's a gamble taking up a company's offer - it's probably best not bothering.

Radio (Silence) Free Scotland

Some great points made there Iain. It does seem that while there are a great number of ideas around the future of Scottish media within an independent Scotland, there has been little offered by the powers that be in Holyrood to explain exactly where the funding will come from. I suspect they are not entirely certain themselves or we would have heard more by now. It does seem certain though that the licence fee will be included - probably at a higher rate for a smaller return.
