I fundamentally disagree with anyone that suggests the media, the US and the world at large should try to erase this horrific even from history. It has happened - just like the Holocaust happened, Columbine happened, Jamie Bulger happened. It is the media's job to make sure that our so-called civilised society has all the information about this event so that we can at least try to learn from it and make the changes required to make sure that in another 100 years times things like these aren't still happening. If we had written the assassination of Martin Luther King out of history would that have helped things? Would Obama now be president?
