Oh yes, we can't throw convicted terrorists out of country for bombing us, as it's a breach of their human rights and we won't attempt change the rules. However we can suspend article 6.2 for the charter of human rights (the right to be presumed innocent until guilty) to allow the onus of proof to shift as in civil law. Christ, we are temporarily changing the core fundamentals of our judicial system for the likes of Macdonalds but...Shame on the brands, the games the mother of all commercial machines and the Government for selling our principles for cash.
Great article, nice to hear that i'm not the only one that feels this way. The 'guff' originates from people that THINK they understand Guerrilla and how to effectively skip around the complex trip lines and legislation that can easily bring a campaign to it's knees. If you want your electrics fixed you don't call a plumber do you? So why do certain people in PR or Advertising agencies continue to THINK they understand the 'black arts' of stunt based Guerrilla marketing? They should hire the expertise with the the creative power and a finger on the latest techniques to deliver the real power of stunts. Follow this simple rule and we never again have to witness yet another projection on Edinburgh Castle or some crap reverse graffiti blur on a pavement, this may seem 'totally radicle' to the people that regurgitate the idea but it's been done to death and although you can screw a few more pounds from your client, they will gain little or nothing in reputation. As for Paddy Power grumpymonkey they take bold expensive risks, most are cringe worthy and desperate, just as many of the stunts that you hear or read about are matched by complete costly failures.
