What lessons can UK advertisers learn from Super Bowl XLVI?

I think if advertisers can make sporting events in the UK more exciting the way the superbowl is, then I think it would be a huge stepping stone. The difference between the Superbowl and sporting events in the UK is the hype. There are people that look forward to seeing superbowl ads. But to my knowledge i have never heard of anyone looking forward to seeing an ad for the Xfactor for instance.
