In the Pakistan town of Rawalpindi Google Maps would have viewers believe there is a giant monument which portrays the Android Mascot urinating on the Apple logo.

The graphic, which can be located here on Google Maps, is accessible on both desktop and mobile devices. The image, as it emerges, was not the work of Google who blamed it on a user abusing its map-maker tool.

A Google spokesperson told Mashable: “Even though edits are moderated, occasionally the odd inaccurate or cheeky edit may slip through our system.

“We've been made aware of the issue and are working on getting it removed."

For a time, viewers thought the logo was a Google prank after the company launched a Pac-Man game letting users play the retro game on their favourite streets for April Fools Day.
