'Creative' takes the top spot in LinkedIn's ten most overused UK marketing buzzwords

LinkedIn has published its list of the most overused buzzwords in the UK marketing industry with "creative" taking the top spot.

The professional social network studied the language of its 17 million of its UK members to find which buzzwords cropped up the most often. In 2014, the words and phrases most overused by marketers on LinkedIn was “creative”, followed by “strategic” and “motivated”.

10. Extensive experience

Richard George, a LinkedIn spokesperson, said: “Marketers spend their lives building the brands of their companies and clients, so should be experts at building their own brands.

“We’ve revealed these “buzzwords” to illustrate how important it is to differentiate your own brand as well as that of the organisation you work for. By avoiding these commonly used words, marketers can make sure their profiles stand out from the crowd.”

Earlier this month a study from Lady Geek found that LinkedIn was the most empathetic company on social media.
