Bizarre 'One BlackFriars' luxury London development ad invokes Twitter mockery
A misguided London Property group has released a cringeworthy ad showcasing its new ‘One BlackFriars’ luxury development overlooking the Thames.
The One Blackfriars apartments from Berkeley Group will dominate the Thames skyline offering some of the highest-class apartments in the city. However, the four minute ad showcasing a couple experience the finest London has to offer was almost immediately opened to ridicule on social media by shocked onlookers.
The video appears to have been removed from Vimeo by the uploader.
One Blackfriars, St George, Berkeley Group from New Homes London on Vimeo.
The ad portrays a rich couple embarking on helicopter rides, being serviced by an astute butler and sight-seeing the capital in a Bentley. The couple also admire a sculpture of the building they have just acquired a penthouse suite in.
Hours after the video's release early on Wednesday, it mustered over 3,000 hits with viewers taking to social media to voice their thoughts on the ad.
I really do urge everyone to watch the One Blackfriars vid, there's something deeply culturally worrying about it. http://t.co/MNcSvduf6C

If we can get One Blackfriars known as "The Beer Belly" I'm sure we can marginally damage the investors' returns. We can do this. — Left Outside (@leftoutside) January 8, 2015
According to the Berkley website Blackfriars One is "within close proximity to world-class venues, housing a flourishing arts scene with theatre, art, ballet, museums & classical and contemporary music."
This follows rival firm Redwood Properties pulling a similarly ridiculed development ad which was likened to scenes from ‘Psycho’ by social media users.
