Beer expert Melissa Cole and Borough Market managing director Keith Davis chose the five choices out of over 100 put forward on social media channels.

Davis said: “Since the competition launched we have been inundated with suggestions from people who had really done their research and come up with clever, witty and catchy names for our first ever beer. We have shortlisted five of the best names and are now calling on the public to hop to it and vote for the one they like the most.

“Shortlisted names include Hop Factor as it’s modern, relevant and relates to the fact that it has been brewed using Borough-grown hops, Begged, Stolen & Borough’d which showed a great sense of humour and made the judges smile, Borough Barrow and Traders Triangle which reflect the market’s history and Millennia Hop with its firm link back to the 1,000th anniversary.”

The public are being encourages to ‘like’ their favourite entry on Facebook, with the bottle with the most ‘likes’ winning.
