Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow got married in a ceremony which saw a white walker as the best man and Ygritte as the best woman…well, that’s what Blinkbox would have you believe as it set up a Game of Thrones wedding for superfans.

Blinkbox, which has season 4 available to stream, arranged the day for two fans of the show (who were not at all wary at the idea of having Catelyn Stark as the mother-in-law? Is the Red Wedding forgotten?) at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire.Created by Taylor Herring, the campaign saw the bride arrive on a white horse and the groom set with two menacing direwolf-esque dogs on leashes.
Adrian Letts from Blinkbox said: ‘Game of Thrones is by far and away the most popular TV series on Blinkbox. We are proud to have established ourselves as the go to digital service for those who want to enjoy the show. Sales of this series are 60 per cent up on the opening weeks of season 3. Our distinctive marketing campaigns, both on TV and online, illustrate our passion for the show with wit and have been key to the continued association of Blinkbox with Game of Thrones.”
This is not the first big stunt by Blinkbox and Taylor Herring: a dragon skull was ‘found’ on a beach to celebrate season 3’s release and last week a video featuring a trio of pugs styled as cast members in a barking homage to Game of Thrones was released, coming seventh on our Viral Video Chart. No-one died throughout the course of the wedding.
