Watch a video of cute puppies doing adorable things for 60 seconds and raise money to help dogs in need - who could resist?

That’s what the latest campaign from Pedigree New Zealand hopes. The Pedigree Adoption Drive urges viewers to watch the YouTube advert, promoting the monetisation aspect of the video channel.

“Long story short, if you create your own content and it’s approved, YouTube will place ads inside or near the video. Whoever uploaded the content then earns 55 per cent of the advertising revenue. How much this works out to be depends on a couple of factors, such as the type of ads and the pricing of ads appearing with the video. But remember, in this case, all money raised goes toward feeding, treating and finding homes for dogs in need,” the company said.

Created by Finch, the ad was directed by Nick Ball.
