To raise money for local charity Bolton Lads and Girls Club the team at Clock Creative are attempting a new world record challenging its staff to eat as many sprouts as they can in 60 seconds, in an event to be streamed live on its Twitter feed.

The current record for eating the Christmas staple that’s loved and loathed in equal measure stands at 31 sprouts in one minute, set by Linus Urbanec from Sweden in 2008.

“We all know that the humble sprout isn’t to everyone’s taste and we thought it would be a bit of fun to take on this tough opponent. It could get messy – but it’s a good end to the year and we’ll be raising some funds for a worthwhile cause at the same time,” said Ann Rimmer, Clock CEO.

The team’s progress at Clock HQ can be followed using the hashtag #ClockChristmasWR and will be live streamed on the agency’s Twitter feed at 1pm on Thursday 19 December.
