Eight Romanian men managed to con more than £400,000 from the government in subsidies for their Farmville farms.

The men declared 1,860 cows, with each fake animal earning them around £100 in grants over the three year period for which they claimed.

However, now they are suing the government for stopping the payments, arguing that there was nothing in the application stating the farms had to be real.

They will soon take the case to court.
