To celebrate the opening of a dedicated Barbie department in Selfridges, London, three London designers – Fred Butler, Nasir Mazhar and Sister by Sibling – have been invited to dress the iconic doll.

Each designer has dressed four Barbies which will be sold as special collectables.

The new department, housed within the permanent fourth floor Toy Shop, will showcase the best of Barbie with a central totem-pole style display featuring Barbie collections past and present, as well as archive items and special one-offs.
Head of accessories and childrenswear at Selfridges, Erin Moscow, commented: “In opening a concept space for toys, there couldn't be a more perfect partner than Barbie, whose fashion credentials outstrip most of her human counterparts. "The creative starting points for the department were icons in the marketplace, and naturally Barbie was the name on everyone's lips. These one-off dolls are something truly special, and a testament to how relevant and pioneering Barbie continues to be.”
A number of fashion houses throughout the years have dressed Barbie, including Christian Louboutin, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. The dolls show are Fred Butler, Nasir Mazhar and Sister by Sibling designs respectively.
