Cheesy ploy sees Domino’s introduce pizza scented DVDs

If you happen to find yourself in Brazil watching a DVD, only to detect a conspicuous whiff of pizza, do not be alarmed. In all likelihood you’ll have stumbled on the latest marketing wheeze from Domino’s – pizza scented videos.

Not content with introducing the hot dog stuffed crust pizza the fast-food chain is running with the notion that our nostrils are the quickest route to our stomachs by coating the plastic in a cheesy perfume.

Participating rental stores are going the full hog on the venture by overlaying an image of a pizza on the disc to hammer home the message, turning the DVD drive into a plastic, lukewarm, oven.

Domino’s band of mad pizza boffins are confident that the experience will be sufficient to persuade Brazilians to pick up the phone and order their favourite doughy treat there and then, although sadly for those of us in the UK Dominos have no plans to introduce a similar initiative here.
