Realise Digital creates 'Beam Me Up' Star Trek app

The augmented reality app was created for the Destination Star Trek event

Digital design, marketing and build agency Realise Digital and CBS Action’s augmented reality campaign for Star Trek – ‘Beam Me Up’ - has been nominated for a Webby Award.

The matter transporter app was specifically developed for the Destination Star Trek event in London last October.

Using the Aurasma platform, users of the app were able to beam themselves off the Star Trek transporter at the event by pointing the app at a specially constructed stage.

Over the two and a half day event the ‘Beam Me Up’ experience was viewed over 6,000 times with the app itself downloaded to nearly 4,000 devices.

The app has now been nominated in the Interactive Advertising & Media/Augmented Reality category at this year's Webby Awards.
