We just wish the charming advert Boots put out in the run up to the big day (in which children hand over presents as a thank you for understanding their future life choices) would have shown the faces of mums who received a box of condoms, fat control pills, or thrush cream.

Asda

We ask you, what mother doesn’t want an adult size ‘Supermum’ onesie, complete with cape and head band? Well... we imagine very few. On the plus side, mothers who have received this from their kids can get their revenge by picking them up from school/work/the pub in the full outfit.

Cards

In which case, putting a giant pink onesie out there as a gift suggestion might have seemed like a good idea (pushing fat control pills, however, we cannot condone).But surely, retailers could come up with a simple card that says “Mum, thanks for everything”. Well…apparently not, as we found cards ranging from the bizarre, "To my Girlfriend on Mother's day", to the just plain cheap. Note: to anyone who felt this MILF card was an appropriate Mother’s Day message - it's not. Really, really not.
