Maybe you have just hit the end of year magic figure, maybe you just closed a major account win, maybe you have just been too busy to even think about it... either way, you have not yet booked your end of year team celebration and by now everywhere good is fully booked, right? Wrong.

Booking a private dining room is the smart way of getting into the restaurant you want, and a few of London’s best still have the odd date for lunch or dinner available. This week we present further options with availability between now and Christmas, including our non-food festive wild card….

Hibachi Table at Nobu Berkeley Street

Few dining experiences in London match that of feasting at the Hibachi grill table at Nobu Berkeley Street. Described by the Observer as ‘the world’s sexiest restaurant’, well, this is its top table, offering the ultimate Nobu dining experience. Situated prominently in the main dining room, hibachi means fire (hi) bowl (bachi), with food cooked at high heat over the three special sunken hibachi grills. Your guests participate in the cooking, adding a flair of theatre to the occasion. The full a la carte menu is of course available in addition to the hibachi grill selection of wagyu beef, lamb or chicken. Booking requires minimum of 8, maximum 12. Currently available for lunch on 17 and 18 December. Menus from £80pp.

The Wolseley

Not much needs to be said about The Wolseley by way of introduction. Still one of the most over-subscribed dining rooms in all London, good luck getting a table. However, you would have excellent luck if you wanted to book one of the few remaining dates for its absolutely gorgeous private dining room, currently available for lunch on 14 December and dinner on 21 December. The room has views across the restaurant and onto Piccadilly, seating up to 14 for a rather fabulous pre-Christmas get together. Keep your flashing antlers and bad taste jumpers away; this is for those seeking a more refined approach to festive celebrations, a last minute Christmas invitation to die for. Menus from £48pp.

HKK

One of the least well known but most beautiful private dining rooms in The City. HKK is the financial district outpost of Hakkasan, nestled between Finsbury Square and Shoreditch. The food is perfect for a group feast, accommodating up to 14 guests in the private room, or 20 guests for large table dining in the main restaurant. Options include a classic five-course duck menu as well as 15 course gastronomic extravaganzas. Currently, the private dining room is available on a selection of dates for lunch or dinner, including 15 and 17 December for dinner and 22 and 23 for lunch. Menus from £48 per person.

Old Tom & English

Nights out don’t come much more fun than a basement bar in Soho. Just opened and already winning a great reputation is Old Tom & English, hidden under Wardour Street. This unique restaurant and bar has many underground nooks and crannies for teams to quietly celebrate the season. Serving vintage cocktails and modern British ‘anglo tapas’ for brilliant social networking of the human kind. It’s a very stylish take on the kind of home entertaining that Abigail was still channelling for her party. The venue has a maximum capacity of 65 and is already very busy - but has current availability in the secluded Cloisters for a group of eight on 15 December and a group of six on 22 December. Food and drinks-included menus from £60pp. G&Ts a must.

Wild card: Van Morrison

Maybe everyone doesn’t fancy the idea of a formal dinner, but everyone wants to do something? How about an intimate Van Morrison gig at Nell’s Jazz and Blues, the newly opened live music venue in West Kensington. The gig is sold out but of course tickets can be arranged from £175 each by calling 02070601060. There are many live music events across London in the run up to Christmas, so if you don’t fancy Van Morrison, there are plenty other possibilities to get your team in the Christmas spirit and celebrate the year's achievements.

Next week, it’s our list of best after work Christmas drinks venues across media London. From secret terraces, pop-ups to old school wood panelled boozers. ’Tis the season.
