If you’ve ever been on a long plane journey or commute without WiFi available, and you wish you could be reading news articles, the Pocket app will make you very happy.

Pocket allows you to bookmark webpages you’d like to see later on (like on news or opinion pieces on The Drum!), and it syncs across all your devices, such as MacBook Pro, Samsung Tablet, and the iPhone. With the option to read website articles in a simple text format or in a typical website view, Pocket is versatile.

You can easily save articles from RSS and article apps like Zite and Reeder, as well as from Safari on the iPhone/iPad. There’s a desktop app for Macs, a web browser version, and a Safari plug-in so you can save articles to Pocket from your laptop or desktop computer. In addition, you can share articles from Pocket with your social media connections on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Once you start accumulating articles/webpages, you can use tags or choose to “favourite” certain ones in an effort to organise them. Pocket is most convenient because it allows users to read what they’re interested in even without a data connection.

Pocket comes highly recommended from me!
