SodaStream becomes official sponsor of Channel 4’s new winter sports show

SodaStream will be the sponsor of Channel 4’s new winter sports show, The Jump.

The partnership was negotiated by Channel 4 Sales and Mediacom, and will see the home carbonation beverage systems look to encourage consumers to ‘make the jump’ from buying fizzy drinks to using SodaStream.

Fiona Hope, managing director at SodaStream UK, said: “Our partnership with The Jump is the perfect fit for us. Whilst contestants are pushing their physical and mental ability to the limits, viewers are also challenging themselves to stick to a health and fitness regime.

“We’re encouraging consumers to make ‘the jump’ to SodaStream sparkling water, which they can make at home from tap water in an instant, as a healthier alternative to other soft drinks. In the process consumers can also do their part in helping to prevent the unnecessary manufacture of thousands of plastic bottles that would otherwise end up on landfill.”

The show is set to see celebrities such as Sinitta, Amy Childs, ex-England cricketer Darren Gough take part in a series of winter sports activities, including a live ski jump, speed skiing, speed skating, bobsleigh, ski cross, skeleton and slalom.

Danny Peace, agency principal at Channel 4, said: “We’re delighted to have SodaStream on board sponsoring The Jump which promises to be an exciting, live event TV for Channel 4.”

Each episode will be broadcast live from an open air studio, which will also form the setting for the live final showdown.
