People on the move is a weekly column

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

MCI Group

MCI Group has launched MCI Experience with Max Fellows at the helm.

Previously head of client services at experiential agency Clive, Fellows has been appointed as director of client services, to work with existing and potential clients.

Ogilvy UK

Ogilvy UK has appointed Vaughan Townsend as creative director to lead the Boots brands.

Joining from LIDA where he was associate creative director, Townsend will be charged with leading the creative teams and campaigns for the brands.

Conde Nast Britain

Vikki Chowney has been appointed as director of brand partnerships at Conde Nast Britain.

The role will see her join the Conde Nast Creative Studio, which leads its brand-owned offer.

Snow

Sanjay Castelino has been appointed as chief marketing officer of Snow.

Castelino will work closely with the Snow’s senior management team to continue it’s bid to lead solutions and growth.

Virtue

Vice’s creative agency, Virtue has expanded it’s senior leadership team with two appointments seeing Gemma Knox join as UK general manager and Beth Bentley take on the role of vice president of strategy.

The news comes as Priay Matadeen joins British Vogue, leaving her role of managing director.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Victoria Milligan has been appointed as marketing and communications director for media brands, UK and Ireland, at Dentsu Aegis Network.

In the role, she will lead the comms across Dentsu’s network.

Grey

Katie Jackson and Jessica Tamsedge have both been promoted to joint heads of account management at Grey.

Jackson, previously group business director on the Marks & Spencer account, has been in the company while Tamsedge has been promoted from deputy head of account leadership and group business director across the Nomad Food Europe account.

Adeptiv UK

Yourzine has rebranded to Adeptiv UK, bringing with it a shake up to the management team.

Jake Richards, ex-DigitasLBI business director, has been appointed as managing director while Alisa Fleischmann from Wunderman and Ogilvy One has taken on the role of client services director.

Facebook

Ex-vice deputy communication director, Anna Dack, has parted ways with the media company to join Facebook to head up the comms for their video division.

Dack was promoted to the role she leaves in February 2018.

Refinery29

Online media brand, Refinery29, has appointed Charlotte Gush as fashion editor.

She joins from i-D magazine where she previously held the role of opinion editor.

Turner

Jia Salindong-Du has been appointed as the Turner Asia Pacific country manager for the Philippines.

In the role Salindong-Du will work on growing on the brand’s kids and entertainment part of the business.

Blis

Kaye Quema has been appointed head of sales for Blis, Asia, where she will be responsible for the agency’s growth and sales strategies.

The role follows the expansion of Blis into Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Digitas

Digitas has appointed Sandra Gin to head up client services in Hong Kong.

Joining from Proximity BBDO in Toronto, Gin will lead the account services team.

Collins

Independent brand experience design company Collins has appointed Karen Soukup to its senior leadership team in San Francisco. Soukup, who previously served as brand experience director for the company, will be stepping into the role of managing partner, brand experience design. Soukup will direct the office and continue to contribute to client work for some of Collins’ key brand partners.

Digital Remedy

King Entertainment's Keith 'Kappy' Kaplan is taking a board seat at ad tech pioneer, Digital Remedy. His appointment follows the acquisition of CrowdHere and the elevation of its former chief executive Nick Pahade to chief operating officer and president of Digital Remedy.

Kaplan most recently served as the global president of monetization for King Entertainment, a division of Activision Blizzard.

Havas

Greg James, former CSO North America has been promoted to global chief strategy officer for Havas Group’s media business. A respected thought leader within the industry, James has an outstanding track record, winning record levels of new business for the US and managing award winning global campaigns for LVMH, Vodafone, Nintendo, Coca-Cola and Unilever.

Greg joined the Group following Cake’s acquisition by Havas in 2008 where he was a partner and head of content.

Engine Digital

The leadership team at Engine Digital, a digital agency in New York City and Vancouver, has promoted Brittany Houweling to the newly-developed role of manager, client strategy.

In her new role, Houweling will relocate to Vancouver from Engine Digital’s New York City studio. She will work directly with the agency's existing West Coast client partners including BC Hydro, Ocean Wise, BCLC, Coast Capital and Rocky Mountaineer.

Spicefire

Brand innovation agency Spicefire has appointed Chris Wallen as brand director, based at Spicefire’s Cincinnati office.

In his new role, Chris will lead and grow strategic client relationships, pitch new business and help foster an innovative environment for people and ideas to thrive.

Mirriad

Video technology company Mirriad announced the expansion of its global team with the additions of Tim Jones, head of global head of research and insights, and Neha Warrier, who has been named vice president of sales in India.

Jones and Warrier both possess a firm understanding of the current video advertising ecosystem as well as shifting viewer consumption habits across the world’s leading broadcast networks.

The Martin Agency

The Martin Agency has appointed Danny Robinson as chief client officer. The move reflects the continued strategic changes and realignment in the agency’s leadership.

His primary responsibilities include working with account management to protect and sell stimulating creative ideas, working with creatives to ascertain what drives their clients’ businesses and partnering with clients to fight brand invisibility and sell breakthrough work throughout their organizations.

Cheil Worldwide Brazil

Claudio Lima has left Ogilvy to take on the role of chief creative officer at Cheil Worldwide Brazil.

In the role, Lima will be tasked with developing the agency’s creative technology offering, with a focus on Brazil.

FCB New York

FCB New York chief creative officer Ari Halper announced that Adam Isidore has been appointed director of integrated production, where he will be charged with leading all production efforts for the agency.

Isidore joins FCB New York from Taylor James, where he had held the position of managing director since 2016.
