Creativity is all about freeing your mind and thinking outside the box. That’s what The Drum Chip Shop Awards are all about — they celebrate pure, unadulterated originality.

The Chip Shop Awards are a place where professionals, students, or anyone really, can compete on a level playing field, and maybe even win £1000 along the way.

Can you enter work for a client you don’t have? Of course. Do you have the client, but the work never ran? Yes, you can. Did you doodle something sitting on the loo? Who gives a shit.

There is also a panel of industry professional judges who can’t wait to see what rude, crude, innovative, spectacular, offensive or just pure brilliant work you have to offer, including: Will Rust, executive creative director at Ogilvy Denmark, Stephen De Wolf, executive creative director at Clemenger BBDO, Paul Jordan, executive creative director at mcgarrybowen and more to come.

Rust hopes to see work that challenges the way people see things, “and ideally takes the piss out of them, or our views, in the process.” He continues: “I think the Chip Shop Awards have always been about pushing boundaries of what is acceptable and what isn’t, or at least sparking conversations of that nature. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a time where the world was more polarised, and there were as many discussions and differences of opinion on some pretty serious topics.”

De Wolf said: “In a world where people don’t want to engage with what we do for a living, we need to make sure the ideas we create get noticed.

“Without the traditional filters, rules and regulations we apply to our everyday there’s no reason we shouldn’t be seeing brave, witty, well-crafted ideas... something offensive would be acceptable too.”

This year, the Grand Prix winner at the awards will win a grand, as well as a coveted chip. Let loose with no rules or boundaries and show the world what you’re made of.

The Drum Chip Shop Awards is a platform where anything and everything is allowed, with no rules or boundaries meaning the possibilities are endless. The deadline for entries is Monday 12 March, download your entry pack now and be in with a chance to show of your skills to the world.
