Previouslt Facebook has resisted venturing into the monetization of video ads, with founder Mark Zuckerberg having even said that pre-roll ads didn't align with company's News Feed, as reported by Variety.

Facebook is already doing well with Watch where it is all set to invest $1bn on original programming. It is also to debut an eight-episode documentary series about Real Madrid.

Shows scheduled to roll out on Watch include a reality series about the family of L.A. Lakers player Lonzo Ball, an unscripted show starring Bill Murray and his brother Brian Doyle-Murray, a reality show about NBA star Dwayne Wade and a drama series produced by Kerry Washington.
