This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Glamour

Deborah Joseph has joined Glamour in the role of chief content officer to work across all platforms of the magazine. Also joining is Chelsea Hudges has as picture and multimedia producer.

The two newly created roles follow the publications announcement to drop print frequency from monthly to biannual in beauty-led, digital strategy.

Gumtree

Gumtree has promoted its UK commercial director, Matt Barham, to the role of general manager. In his new role, effective immediately, Barham will lead Gumtree’s next phase of growth following the introduction of a new business strategy focusing on delivering best-in-class experience in its key verticals.

Since joining Gumtree UK’s parent company, eBay over six years ago, Barham has been a core member of the Gumtree leadership team.

Tesco

Havas Helia's chief executive Tash Whitmey is to depart to take on the role of loyalty and membership director at Tesco – an account her agency has held for 22 years.

Whitmey is making the move client-side after six years at the helm of Havas' digital agency. She was heavily involved in Tesco's Clubcard loyalty initiative, which will be a large part of her remit.

GroupM

GroupM’s global chief digital officer, Rob Norman is to retire from the role from January next year, the WPP-owned media network has announced.

Norman, who has worked with CIA and MEC, as well as GroupM, for over three decades, will step down next year but will remain involved in an advisory capacity.

Geometry

Elspeth Lynn is joining Geometry Global UK as executive creative director to work alongside current chief executive Michelle Whelan.

Lynn joines from FCB Inferno London where she held the role group creative director.

Amplify

Amplify is welcoming two creative directors to it's team, Vikesh Bhatt and Ben Peckett.

Bhatt, best known for the 10 Downing Tweet initiative, joins from Hi Mum! Said Dad while, Pecket, renowned for his launch of Lee Cooper's first range of denim with Jack Garrat, joins from Kameleon Worldwide.

Gyro UK

Gyro bolsters its senior team with the promotion of Kate Howe to chief executive as well as Ian Bell and Beth Freedman.

Joining from Carat, Bell will take on the role of chief strategy officer to lead the Gyro UK team. Freedman joins from Saatchi & Saatchi Pro and will take on the role of managing director.

Bazaarvoice

Sophie Light-Wilkinson has been assigned as vice president of marketing EMEA at Bazaarvoice as the agency continues its expansion strategy.

Light-Wilkinson brings over 10 years' experience in senior marketing roles, most recently global senior director of marketing at Rocket Fuel.

MC&C

Rob Watt has joined MC&C as international marketing director as the agency wins the Unicef Latin American and Caribbean brief.

Joining from T.B Seen, where he ld the role of managing director, and having previously been UK managing partner at Razorfish, Watt said: "Taking MC&C’s approach of delivering growth to clients is as compelling internationally as it has been in the UK. Winning UNICEF is a case in point, and I’m confident in our ability to work alongside our local partners to deliver a digital programme that boosts legacy donations for the charity.”

GeoSpock

GeoSpock has appointed Richard Baker as chief executive.

The technology entrepreneur will also join the board and work to grow the company and expand it further.

APAC people on the move

APAC

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne

Clemenger BBDO has appointed Carmela Soares as executive creative director of its Melbourne agency. Soares will work alongside the agency's existing executive creative directors Evan Roberts and Stephen de Wolf and creative chairman James McGrath. Soares joins from Isobar where she was the national creative director.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has also promoted Nick Jamieson to creative director for the agency’s Activation division. Jamieson will be responsible for creative output of shopper marketing, experiential and activation campaigns.

Meat and Livestock Australia

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has appointed Graeme Yardy as its group marketing director, replacing Andrew Howie who has joined Westpac as the head of advertising. Yardy joins from Horticulture Innovation Australia, where he was marketing lead, prior to this he held marketing roles at Wrigley and Mars.

Hypetap

Influencer marketing provider Hypetap has appointed its first Sydney hires with Nick Robson as its commercial director and Naz Fathi as sales manager. Robson joins from Unruly, where he was executive group sales director and Fathi joins from Pandora.

Supercars

Car racing business Supercars has appointed Sean Seamer as its chief executive officer, with a remit to continue the domestic and international success of the business. Seamer joins from MediaCom, where he was CEO for two years.

Seamer replaces James Warburton, who was recently appointed chief executive of APN Outdoor.

Ogilvy Melbourne

Ogilvy has appointed Susannah George as the head of film and content production for its Melbourne office. The newly-created role, will see George responsible for leading and building the agency’s film and content department. She joins from AJF Melbourne, where she spent four years as senior TV producer and 2IC, she has previously worked at Ogilvy in London, McCann Brisbane, MWO and Cummins & Partners.

M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment

M&C Saatchi has appointed Jon Kelly to the newly created role of creative director for its sponsorship and marketing agency, M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment. Kelly brings more than 20 years experience working across brand, digital and experiential marketing in Sydney, Bangkok and London. He will report directly to managing director Jamie Gilbert-Smith.

Deutsch

The New York office of Deutsch has hired JWT New York’s Matt Baker as chief strategy officer. Baker will report directly to Val DiFebo, chief executive officer of Deutsch NY.

Baker will have oversight of Deutsch’s Brand Planning (traditional and digital), Data Analytics, and Communications Planning teams, working across all clients including Johnson & Johnson, Busch, PNC Bank, Siemens and DraftKings, among others.

Baker joined JWT NY from Anomaly, where he was director, strategy and innovation for Google, including Google Glass and Android Wear, and part of the P&G Innovation Team on global new product creation.
