Morrisons has got its all-important Christmas campaign up and running with a saccharine encounter between a young girl and a reindeer to showcase its ‘Free from…’ range of products.

The spot opens with a family encounter with the sleigh-pulling animal, much to the young girl’s alarm, before her older brother intervenes by encouraging her to get close with a gentle ‘go on’. From there the ad proceeds to the families living room where the girl is once again apprehensive about placing a star on top of the tree, only to be again comforted by her brother.

From there we are transported to a nativity play where the child finds the courage to announce the birth of Jesus to a packed hall courtesy of a surreptitious nudge from her brother. Proceedings then come to a close with a family trip to the supermarket while her mother stocks up on gluten free desserts.

Safely back at home the girl tucks in following a final piece of encouragement from her brother.

Morrisons is the latest retailer to unveil its Christmas push, heightening anticipation for John Lewis’s big reveal of its own Christmas campaign any day now.
