Matalan shows how its one-stop shop eases the domestic carnage of Christmas

Matalan is the latest retailer to jump aboard the Christmas advertising sleigh with an ad showing how hectic the festive period can get.

The minute-long work called Creating Value in Every Moment from ITN Productions debuted 4 November during ITV’s The xFactor and looks to tap into the human moments around Christmas.

Simon Lee, national marketing director of Matalan said: “Everything we do at Matalan centres around family and this Christmas ad is no different. We wanted to capture a beautifully shot, humorous and realistic representation of a family who are having their version of the perfect Christmas – creating extra special memories and moments out of the festive commotion and excitement that unfolds.

“At Matalan we love being there for families throughout the year, delivering both quality and value. ITV are fantastic to work with because they share our passion and they understand just how to bring our message to life for a broader UK audience.”

Adam Barnett, acting director of advertising, ITN Productions, added: “Our relationship with Matalan through ITV Adventures has allowed us to work on a multitude of different productions, the latest being this Christmas TV commercial which was an incredibly fun process. We’re really proud of the end result, it’s beautifully shot, with great performances which really captures the unpredictability of Christmas as well as the fun and laughter of being with family.”

There are 30- and 10-second cuts of the ad to run on different platforms.
