Wunderman's global chief executive, Mark Read has been named as The Drum's Digital Individual of the Year for a second time in three years at the Dadi Awards.

Topping the 2017 Digerati list, Read has steered the WPP digital business forward with major changes taking place, including the integration of sister brand, Possible into Wunderman.

Read, who won the prize two years ago for the first time, thanks the readers of The Drum for the recognition and praised his own team for helping him achieve it.

Co-incidentally, Read has been interviewed ahead of winning the award, while in Singapore, where he discusses what he believes clients want from the digital sector, Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods and the consolidation take place at Wunderman.

WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell, another previous winner of the prize, commented: "All of us at WPP are delighted to hear that Mark has topped the list – and for the second time. He has been a leading digital thinker and practitioner for many years and fully deserves the recognition."

The full Digerati 100 list, in a new format to recognise the various sectors emerging from the digital industry, will be revealed from next week, while the full list winners of The Dadi awards can also be found on its website.
