This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

People on the move featuring KBS, VML and more

EMEA people are on the move

Time Inc.

Charlotte Moore, editor-in-chief of InStyle UK, is expanding her role to become digital content director across Time Inc. UK’s fashion and beauty portfolio, including the online sites for Look and Marie Claire.

Alongside her role on InStyle, Moore will work with Trish Halpin, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire, to continue the editorial development of marieclaire.co.uk. Halpin and Moore will be working to ensure closer alignment of the wider editorial talent across the fashion and beauty digital businesses, including look.co.uk.

In addition, Holly Rains is promoted to digital editor of marieclaire.co.uk. Rains joined the team as deputy digital editor in May 2016.

Wunderman

Pip Hulbert has been promoted to chief executive after serving as chief operating officer since January 2013.

Meanwhile, executive creative director Ian Haworth has been promoted to chief creative officer. He will take charge of the agency's UK and EMEA creative contributions. Cult LDN's Abi Ellis, has been appointed as Haworth's replacement and will be joining the company in December.

Finally, Richard Dunn's role has been expanded from chief strategy officer to chairman.

Publicis Media

Sue Frogley has been named as chief executive at Publicis Media while Amanda Morrissey has been appointed president of global client strategy for its new data and analytics division.

Frogley steps up from her previous role as president of global client solutions at Publicis Groupe. She will also act as member of the London board. She will be responsible for leading the organisation and business transformation while growing the media division's brands.

Previously Publicis Media's chief executive, Morrisey will take on the role of leading the global client strategy side of the newly formed division Publicis Spine. She will be tasked with implementing and rolling-out the cloud-based platform, PeopleCloud, to key Groupe clients.

OMD UK

OMD UK has promoted Laura Fenton, David Josephs and Helen Walker to managing partners, joining the agency leadership team led by agency chief executive Dan Clays.

Fenton has been at OMD UK since 2004, spending three years up to 2014 as the client services director at OMG’s branded content agency, Drum. Josephs joined the agency in 2013 after 13 years at Mindshare, and Walker most recently arrived at OMD UK in 2015 from running OMD Fuse in Australia.

The three will oversee OMD UK's 100-person client development department.

The Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA)

ISBA has appointed Boots veteran Elizabeth Fagan as president, replacing Britvic's Simon Litherland who steps down next month.

Fagan is currently managing director of Boots in the UK and senior vice president at Walgreens Boots Alliance.

She said it was a "crucial time" to join and the industry if it's to retain public confidence and the freedom to advertise responsibily.

It won't be Fagan's first involvement with ISBA, as she was previously a member of its council during her tenure as the group marketing services director at Dixons Carphone.

Blend Media

Blend Media has announced the appointment of Matt Chaplin into the newly created role of chief revenue officer and will be responsible for Blend Media’s global commercial strategy, helping it to take advantage of opportunities to monetise VR and 360 content.

He joins from Dugout, a digital video platform that provides original and behind-the-scenes video content to football fans. Before that he held senior roles at Google and Youtube in the UK, latterly as agency trading head, running commercial ad agreements with media agency partners.

Who Wot Why

Matt Butterfield and Ben Mills have joined Who Wot Why as the agency's first permanent creative hirings.

Butterfield and Mills teamed up on the Watford ad course and spent three years at Saatchi & Saatchi producing work for the likes of EE, Direct Line, Asda, Toyota, Pampers, Kerry Foods, Visa and HSBC.

APAC people on the move

Ogilvy

Ogilvy Brisbane has hired Andy Geppert as head of art and Richard Taylor as creative director.

Geppert and Taylor will work across a number of the agency’s key accounts, including Neds, University of Queensland and Queensland Government. They will guide an already strong creative team, working alongside the agency’s senior leadership team comprising executive creative director Phil Nobay, managing director Ben Lightfoot and strategy director Ewen Pettit.

Geppert previously held the roles of founding partner at Cummins, executive creative director at McCann, senior art director at Publicis and head of art at Clemenger Brisbane, while Taylor had consulting roles at M&C Saatchi, WhiteGrey, and DDB in Sydney.

AnalogFolk

The independent digital creative agency has hired Shereen O’Brien as director of strategy for Asia.

O’Brien previously worked for Imagination, The Walt Disney Company, and JWT. In her agency roles, she has directed strategy for clients such as Ford, Lincoln, Audi, GE, adidas and Pernod Ricard.

Based out of AnalogFolk’s Hong Kong office, O’Brien will lead strategy team efforts on the development of new regional business, as well as bring thought leadership to the agency’s existing regional clients. She will report to managing director & partner, Chris Ryan.

WPP India

WPP India announced CVL Srinivas as its new country manager. He will continue to hold responsibilities as head of GroupM in India.

Prior to this, Srinivas worked at Madison Media and Starcom MediaVest Group, across India as well as other Asia Pacific markets. He has also worked with Unilever, Coca-Cola, Nokia, Vodafone, Samsung and as director, private treaties at The Times Group.

USA People on the move

Google

Three months after retiring from his chief content officer position at Third Door Media, Danny Sullivan announced this morning that he’ll begin working at Google in an as-yet-undefined role with the search division of Alphabet.

Possible

Possible has appointed Megan Schulist as creative director at the agency's New York office. In this role, Schulist will help build collaborative teams. She reports directly to Danielle Trivisonno-Hawley, chief creative officer, the Americas at Possible.

Schulist has 18 years of experience in leading teams of designers, production artists and writers. Prior to joining Possible, she was an associate creative director at Deep Focus. Before that, she held positions at Havas New York, 360i, DigitasLBi, Tribal DDB, BBDO, MRM Worldwide, DraftFCB and Deutsch.

Door Number 3

Austin-based Door Number 3 has hired Noah Davis as executive creative director.

In this position, Davis will lead the development of integrated campaigns for Door Number 3 clients while also playing a key role in business development.

He joins from GW Hoffman, where he served as vice president of creative innovation.

KBS

KBS has appointed Keith Butters as its global chief technology officer. Butters, who is best known for having co-founded The Barbarian Group, will be responsible for the integration of KBS’s technical capabilities within the agency’s creative product, which spans the gamut from fully integrated campaigns to technology innovation to major platform builds.

Butters specialises in applying design thinking to technology, digital media and marketing. He has also played an instrumental role in the creation and growth of the creative coding library Cinder, which was awarded the first ever Cannes Lions Innovation Grand Prix.

Set

WPP experience agency Set has reshaped its leadership team, elevating current president and chief strategy officer Alasdair Lloyd-Jones to the role of chief executive, while founder Sabina Teshler and chief operating officer Kurt Kujovich will assume the titles of chairman and president, respectively.

As Set chief executive, Lloyd-Jones will now oversee a network that spans Portland, Los Angeles, New York and London and collaborate on experiences and activations for brands such as Nike, Sprite, Verizon and BMW.

VML

VML has hired Lauren Lafranz as managing director, global creative operations. In this newly created role, Lafranz will be responsible for helping manage VML’s creative offices worldwide, formalizing the global creative network and being a resource consultant to activate appropriate skill sets for clients.

VML also rehired David Altis as executive creative director, based out of VML Kansas City. He originally joined VML in September 2004, leaving in August 2014 to serve as executive creative director at a local boutique advertising agency.

In addition, Mariana Costa has joined VML as group creative director, based out of the agency’s Chicago office. Costa will be part of the Kimberly-Clark team, where she will manage creative delivery for Family Care brands.

ICF Olson

ICF Olson has promoted Daniel Welch to vice president, managing director of ICF Olson Canada.

Previously vice president, client services, Welch's responsibilities will now include overseeing all client relationships to ensure effective client agency dynamics across the company and continuing to oversee the growing Toronto office.

Welch also held a number of increasingly senior positions at Olson Canada since first joining the company in 2011.

Cars.com

Andy Jacobson has been appointed as Cars.com's senior vice president of national sales.

Jacobson says that he is thrilled to be returning to Cars.com - he spent eight years in sales and marketing roles back in 2004 to 2012 - and adds that he looks forward to leading the nationals sales team, forming strong relationships with partners and contributing to the development of the company.

Jacobson previously served as vice president of sales at VerticalScope Inc and most recently as vice president of client development at Conversant LLC, a digital media company. He has also been in sales and marketing roles at Ford Motor Company, Jaguar, N.A., and Lincoln Mercury.
