Future chairman stands down as part of wider transition
Peter Allen, chairman of Future Publishing, has announced his decision to stand down after six years at the top, opening up a vacancy at the specialist media provider as it transitions to a new phase of growth.
Future chairman stands down as part of wider transition
Allen will relinquish his duties during the board’s next annual meeting, scheduled to take place in February 2018, when he will decline to put his name forward for re-election. This will open the door to a process to find a suitable successor, led by senior independent director Manjit Wolstenholme.
Allen said: "I believe the time has come for a new chair to take over, to ensure stability and continuity during this exciting next phase. I have every confidence that Future will prosper in the coming years."
Allen joined the board in August 2011, masterminding a number of acquisitions over the past 18 months (most recently Centaur Media's home interest division) in concert with chief executive officer Zillah Byng-Thorne.
